a nice and
free
way of entertainment is to visit Londons parks and toy with the squirrels as I did in this video from one of my last visits:

Lol! This is how Alien started. Feel the
fear
some squirrels live right
near
us outside our living room window, we see them from time to time, but they are quite shy over here. We have those with the red fur here, not the grey ones.
I had never seen a live squirrel until I went to the USA, but I was disappointed that I couldn't try to pat one because of the risk of rabies. I thought they were so cute. I wish we had them in this
area
Was that your video, Michael?
oh yes, it's a
real
pleasure to watch them. I made this video with my good old point&shoot camera which is able to film for up to 30 seconds. Long enough for this one squirrel :-)
I didn't check while I was there - do you have other videos?
you can always
rely
on a point and shoot!
Many years ago when I lived in London, a grey squirrel had its
lair
in a tree in my back garden. I still remember seeing it return there one afternoon only to find that a cat had taken up residence! The scolding that the squirrel gave to the cat was astonishing in its ferocity and lnogevity, but the cat completely ignored it. Eventually the squirrel gave up and made a temporary bivouac for the night...
I was first this time!
I'm amazed the cat didn't just kill it.
The word is "rely".
I wouldn't want to become the
prey
of a cat. I'm content with the role of a tin opener. And I'm lucky enough with a P&S to build up our gallery, no need for a heavier camera as far as I'm concerned.
I'm too technologically challenged for fancy cameras. I learn really slowly and sometimes it feels overwhelming. I want a genius "auto" button.
and I want it this
year
@7713 Oops! You're right. Oh
dear!
I have no
idea
where I would be without that "auto" button. Must admit that I rely on it quite heavily.
if someone would make me a
deal
I couldn't refuse on a new camera, even without an auto button, I'd take it!
But every few months there's a new model with the latest "must have" features. Who is
able
to keep up?
and you can
blab
all about the technology abd buy everything with bells and whistles, but if you can't compose a shot, it won't make you a better photographer
perhaps with a large
bulb
it is easier to spot a good motif when it suddenly jumps around a corner ;-)
Whereas some of the advertisers just spout a lot of
bull
For example, why do so many of them claim that their product is "ultimate" as if that makes it wonderful? It's only ultimate until the next one comes along.
don't let them
lull
you, they will never tell you about the weaknesses of their products. If one really was ultimate, they would never have a reason to get money from you again (which is of course their main goal)
And some of these adverts can be a real
lulu.
Like the packet of breakfast cereal that claims it contains "plump juicy raisins" Really? Surely that would be, er, a grape...
I must admit, life would be quite
dull
without all of those ads. Some of them can be quite funny, mostly unintentional, though.
Some are good, agreed. After all, they have a very high budget per minute of finished video and some very creative producers. But most of them really make me grit my teeth. There are very few I would
laud
most of us would be
glad
if we could spend half as much money from time to time as they blow out. What fascinates me most is that you can't even really measure the success of all those ads monetarily.
And there's the social cost of the advertisers' reinforcing of stereotypes. Does an abundance of toiletries really make a
lady?
Wouldn't a gentle spirit be a better measure of this?
wouldn't the ladys feel naked if they have to
clad
themselves without all their toiletries? Nakedness can cause strong reactions, as I had the chance to observe already, so beware ;-)
