Are the images here free for use in mobile apps such as an icon or status image ?

Hi Wayne,
Are you looking for vector artwork irons? There are a couple of good websites that offer free vector artwork icons but you must credit them as the source of your graphics. Search google and skip the first couple of search engine results.

Wayne, you would need to seek permission from the owners of the image for that kind of use.

No you cant use any image without permission for sure.

Jannatul, you can use images without permission if you are using them within the guidelines of the image licence or according to the wishes of the owner if that is stated on the image. You only have to ask if your use is outside the licence. However, there is an expectation that people will ask anyway, and it is good manners. The only reward for posting images is knowing how they are used and receiving feedback. :o)

I agree with Xymonau, Several websites simply require that you give them attribution. Since we live in a business world, everyone wants credit for their work.
